Weeding Vinyl for a Cricut project can be a huge headache. I love my favorite weeding tools and I want to share them with you.
You won’t find them searching under “Vinyl Weeding Tools”, because that isn’t how they are designed to be used. But my mother used to say, Necessity is the mother of invention, and so I decided that these tools looked perfect for weeding vinyl. I think you will think so too.
What are my Favorite Weeding Tools?
They were designed as Pimple Poppers. Yes, you read that right. But look how perfect they are for weeding vinyl!
Some are double sided, so I showed you both sides, well, top and bottom. My favorite are the ones that are most like tweezers. Tweezers would work too, but these are a bit smaller and less strong. Tweezers are a bit thicker, I think.
My favorite vinyl weeding tools out of this kit are pictured below. I have used these for years and yes, I have bought new ones along the way. I use them so much that it feels like I wear the spring out of them.
The reason I like these over traditional vinyl weeding tools is because I can scrape the small piece up and then grab it and take it to the saucer I usually have near by for the weeded pieces.
Cricut has the pick and that is fine, but this helps me grab it and carry it away. Otherwise I was always having to reach in there with my other hand and grab the weeded piece. I find this much more time and energy efficient.
What do I do with the rest of the tools?
Some of them I pitch or give away. I don’t have use for them. But this entire kit is less than $10 on Amazon, so I can afford to throw a few away.
If you have teens in your house, give the extras to them. There are a lot of extra pieces. Check this out.
I have given lots of these away to Cricut friends and they agree with me. These are their favorite vinyl weeding, also. I love when I find great tools for less cost and it does a better job.
